It doesn’t matter the social media platform, responsiveness to comments, questions and feedback is critical and a pillar of your digital marketing. You always want to create a “personal” relationship with your followers.
Content strategy for social media must include both give and take.
If someone leaves a comment on a post – acknowledge it! Even if it doesn’t merit a lengthy response acknowledge it with a response emoji. By doing so, you are letting your followers know that you are indeed active and engaged with them.
Did a follower ask a question? 1000% you need to follow up with a response that includes a direct answer to their question or possibly pointing them to a FAQ section on your website. If the question requires a more involved back and forth suggest a private message or provide them with an email to get in touch with the appropriate person within your company.
Did you receive a review from a customer/client? Whether favorable or not, you MUST respond to reviews. There are so many places people can leave reviews so it is in your best interest to monitor them all. Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor, Angie, NextDoor and the list goes on. Reputation management is a must for your digital presence. And, yes, responding to a negative review will show you in the best light provided it is done appropriately.

Were you tagged in someone else’s post? You’ll want to seek that post out and understand why. Was it a favorable mention by a client or customer? Thank them in the comments. Was it unfavorable? Ask them to reach out to you privately. But be sure to make the request publicly so others know that you are engaged.
